The staff held a farewell party for Woodcox on Wednesday with Chico’s Smokehouse providing catering. “I feel really confident in Emily’s abilities to take on the position and be a great leader for the staff, volunteers and animals.” Operations for the Humane Society will remain as is for now, according to Anselmo. “She did so much great work with the capital campaign and with this big, beautiful facility,” said Gianna Anselmo, development manager. This is a new, exciting chapter in the ever-evolving story of Butte Humane Society and I am honored and ready to continue the mission for the people, and most importantly, the animals in our community,” said Acevedo. It’s taken the leadership of countless individuals over the years to get us where we are today. “Butte Humane Society just surpassed its 112th birthday. Acevedo, Operations Manager, has been a Humane Society employee for almost six years. The board selected Emily Acevedo as the interim executive director.
